Controller Repair in Eastleigh

From stick drift to broken buttons, a faulty controller can ruin your gaming experience. Simon's Tech Repairs offers expert controller repairs in Eastleigh for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo controllers, with clear upfront pricing and a typical turnaround of 1 to 3 days.

Common Controller Problems We Repair

Whether it's stick drift or a broken trigger, here are the most common controller faults we deal with.

Stick Drift

One of the most common controller faults across all platforms. The analogue sticks register movement without any input, making games unplayable. We carry out stick drift repairs and upgrades on PS5, Xbox and Nintendo controllers.

Broken or Sticky Buttons

Buttons that stick, don't register, or have stopped working altogether. We carry out button repairs and replacements on all major controller types.

Won't Charge or Hold Charge

If your controller won't charge or the battery drains unusually fast, it may need a battery replacement or charging port repair.

Connectivity Issues

Controllers that won't connect, keep disconnecting, or have Bluetooth pairing issues. We diagnose and repair connectivity faults on wireless controllers.

Trigger or Bumper Faults

Triggers that feel loose, don't click properly, or have stopped registering inputs. We carry out trigger and bumper repairs and replacements.

Other Controller Faults

Not sure what's wrong? Bring it in. We'll carry out a full diagnostic for £20, which is deducted from your repair cost if you choose to go ahead.

Controller Upgrades

As well as repairs, we offer a range of controller upgrades that improve performance, precision and longevity. Here are the upgrades we currently offer.

TMR Analogue Stick Upgrade

TMR (Tunnel MagnetoResistance) sticks are the next generation of analogue stick technology, a significant step up from standard and even Hall Effect sticks. Rather than using physical contact or basic magnetic sensing, TMR uses advanced magnetic resistance to track your thumb movement with exceptional precision and no physical wear over time.

In plain terms, you get more accurate, more responsive stick movement that won't degrade or develop drift over time. If you play competitively or simply want the best possible feel from your controller, a TMR upgrade is well worth considering.

Compatible with PS5 DualSense and Xbox Series controllers.

Mouse Click Trigger Mod

The mouse click trigger mod replaces the standard trigger mechanism with a tactile click switch, giving you a much faster, more responsive trigger pull. This is particularly popular with shooting game players where rapid trigger response can make a real difference.
Available on most PS5 DualSense controllers. Ask us about compatibility with your specific controller before booking.

Controller Repair - FAQs

Which controllers do you repair?

We repair PS5 DualSense, PS4 DualShock, Xbox Series and Xbox One controllers, and Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and Pro Controllers. If you have a different controller, just get in touch and we'll let you know if we can help.

How long will my controller repair take?

In most cases a repair is well worth it. A new PS5 DualSense controller costs upwards of £60, whereas a stick drift repair starts from just £30. We also offer analogue stick upgrades that use higher quality components to help prevent the fault from recurring.

Is stick drift worth repairing or should I just buy a new controller?

Most controller repairs are completed within 1 to 3 days. However, simple repairs such as button replacements are often turned around more quickly, while upgrades such as TMR analogue sticks or mouse click trigger mods may take a little longer depending on parts availability. We will always give you an accurate time estimate after the diagnostic.

Can you repair third party controllers?

It depends on the make and model. Get in touch before booking and we'll let you know whether we can help.

What if you can't fix my controller?

If we are unable to repair your controller you only pay the £20 diagnostic fee. We'll always confirm the repair cost with you before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
